Utopian Landscapes Programme
How does the material past manifest in the present? How can we re-write and re-image history “from below”? What would documentation of a decolonised, indigenous future look like? Artist films in the second Directions screening programme draw on histories embedded in archives, museums, and rituals to imagine new possibilities now and tomorrow.
The screening is accompanied by the Future Imaginaries Ephemeral Research Library (FIERL), a collection of texts focusing on radical historical, political, and science fiction interpretations of our world and worlds beyond.
